Anchorwood is rooted in the desire to fulfill the mission of exciting kids and young adults toward a deeper relationship with Christ through a Catholic summer camp. Our hope is that all who come through Anchorwood Catholic Camp would then go on to spread God’s love wherever they may go. The summer is just a season of encouragement to what hopefully helps spark a life long commitment to Christ.
OUR CORE VALUES
1. GOD IS WITH YOU
In every part of the camp, God will be kept alive through conversation, imagery, and deed. The vibrance of your relationship with God dwindles the less you speak of Him and keep Him on your mind. That’s why at Anchorwood, we speak of him constantly, surround ourselves with imagery that reflects His love, and act as if He is walking right beside us. This is one way to help keep your relationship with Him thriving and remind you that He is alive and with you!
2. YOU HAVE A FAMILY IN HEAVEN
In addition to having God with you always, the saints and angels are in heaven cheering you on through life. They are family that have finished the race well and are now rooting for you, praying for your strength, and are the best examples of godly character. We should never feel alone knowing there is a family in heaven that loves us and is supporting us every step of the way. And, we should aim to get to know the saints more and learn from them, because we are all called to be saints.
3. EVERYONE NEEDS HIS
LOVE
We are called to spread the love of Christ to everyone, especially those in need. This comes with giving of ourselves in some way to help our fellow brothers and sisters. There are many ways we can show God’s love to others including feeding the hungry, loving the unloved, and caring for the forgotten. That comes with food drives, writing letters, donations, and much more. This value stems from a perpetual attitude of love for all God’s children.

Anchorwood Catholic Camp is structured on the one truth that Jesus is our Savior and we strive to have as close of a relationship with him on earth as possible. That foundational truth is the bedrock for the camp’s three core values;
1. God is with you.
2. You have a family in heaven.
3. Everyone needs his love.
Each year will include the core values that are embedded into camp, to encourage each camper to live out the Catholic faith against real-world obstacles. In addition, a new theme will be introduced each year, with a focus on a specific tool or value to help you in your everyday life on the path to closeness with Christ and spreading His love.
Anchorwood will consist of one-week overnight sessions, meant to mirror the communion we have with the saints, in heaven, here on Earth. It will be a time of growing alongside brothers and sisters in Christ, cheering one another on to run faster and faster in the marathon of faith.
We understand that most of the campers that come to Anchorwood might only spend just one week with us in all their life. It is during that one week, or more, that we hope to ignite a passion for the Catholic faith, and catapult them back to normal life excited to grow in their relationship with Christ and love others more.
The majority of your faith journey will take place outside of the Anchorwood campgrounds, but it is our hope that the time spent at camp will have an impact that lasts a lifetime.
